“I wonder what my first tweet was! Guess I will find my first tweet and find out”
If you ever had this thought and tried to look for your first tweet, you might have scrolled down too far to find it, and most probably wouldn’t have found it. If you want to know about it, you will have to dig into your archives. Unfortunately, Twitter only displays your last 3200 tweets in your timeline, even if you plan to scroll down too far to find your first tweet and if you are someone who tweets a lot and has a lot of tweet in your timeline, you probably wouldn’t have any luck.
How to find old tweets
old tweets finder third-party applications and Chrome extensions, but most of them are shut down. Here are two ways that you can use to find your old tweets
Using Twitter Search
- Log in to your Twitter account using your account ID and Password
- You will find the Search box on the top right side of your screen next to the Tweet button
- Type this string in the search box “from:username since:yyyy-mm-dd until-yyyy-mm-dd”
For example, if your Twitter username is timbert and you want to see all your tweets from 15/08/2017 o 15/09/2017, you will insert “from:timbert since:2017-08-15 until:2017-09-15”
If your default view is of your “Top” Tweets, click on “all” to see every tweet from this period. This must show all your tweets from the time period.
Using Twitter’s Advanced Search Function
- Go to https://twitter.com/search-advanced and enter your username into “From these accounts” field under “People”. Then enter the start date and end date from where you want to see your Tweeter.
- Click on the “Latest” tab to see all your tweets from this date range. You will be able to see the tweets from the said date range.
view old tweets more than 3200 tweets back. these are the valid options for viewing and if you want, deleting your old tweets. Even if you are not looking to scrub your account, using Twitter’s advanced search option every once in a while to keep your account tidy up is not a bad idea.
